Beaches
The house is within a couple of miles of several fantastic sandy beaches, including some with boats available for sailing, canoeing and windsurfing, between Salcombe and Hope Cove. There are also other very good beaches approximately 5 miles away, including the best surfing beach in South Devon.
North Sands
North Sands is located close to Salcombe and is excellent for children, as it is very safe with great sand, a castle dating back to the civil war, a car park for easy access and the Winking Prawn, a restaurant/cafe, right opposite. The Winking Prawn does barbeques in the evening outside, as well as more expensive meals inside.
South Sands
South Sands is next to North Sands and is also excellent for children. There is a ferry during the summer months every 30 minutes from Salcombe which is useful as parking is not so easy. There are sailing boats, windsurfers and canoes for hire and training courses for sailing and windsurfing. (Postcode TQ8 8LL)
Hope Cove
Hope Cove is two places with two beaches, Inner Hope and Outer Hope. The beaches join together at low tide. Both beaches are only present for about three hours either side of low tide and the tide comes in quite fast. There is parking available at both beaches and Inner Hope has a pub, cafe and shop for ice creams etc. There are beautiful walks along the South West Coastal path in both directions. South Milton Sands
Dog friendly, good whatever the tide. Great cafe Beach House, eat in (very small) eat out or take away. National Trust parking with nature reserve behind.
